MathTalk is an EdTech company that strives to help young children, particularly those from economically distressed communities, to develop positive math identities by creating regular opportunities to discover and interact with math in their daily lives, wherever they are.
We have been working closely with MathTalk to help them create engaging and fun digital experiences. By combining our expertise in user experience design with their passion for making math fun for everyone, we have been able to create digital products and activities that are both educational and entertaining. Our goal is to help MathTalk reach as many children and families as possible, and the Measure!Everything! app is where we started.

Inspired by scales and measurements, we designed a typography-based logo to illustrate the concept of Measure!Everything!
Our goal was to create a fun and colorful representation of the concept that everything can be measured. The resulting typography-based logo is quirky yet effective in conveying this message. The logo's playful typography reflects the company's values of creativity and learning.

As the main UI/UX team, we led the effort to improve the usability and design of MathTalk's Measure!Everything! app. Through iterative and rolling updates, we took a comprehensive approach to design, from downloading the app to creating an account and engaging with the activities. Our goal was to create an experience that seamlessly integrates the digital environment with the physical world in a fun and intuitive way.

Children enjoy storytelling because it engages their imagination and helps them connect with the world around them. Which is why our team suggested adding a story to the Measure!Everything! experience using fun-loving characters to act as guides and a group of relatable characters that connect with the MathTalk brand.
Our belief is that these stories can help kids understand complex concepts in a simple and relatable way and can create a sense of community and belonging that makes math fun and approachable for all.

The creation and integration of mini-games into the Measure!Everything! experience is an innovative way to prolong engagement and foster a sense of exploration and discovery. By allowing users to play in the physical world and continue their experience later, MathTalk is encouraging a deep connection with mathematics that transcends the boundaries of traditional learning environments.
The immersive backgrounds we created for the "Thinking of an Animal" game reflect the environments of each animal, creating a relevant and engaging experience. This integration of augmented reality and thoughtful design is a testament to the power of technology to enhance and enrich our lives.
